Marcello Dubaz is a sound re-recording mixer and sound designer. based IN New York and Los Angeles. working in streaming, broadcast TV, AND cinema.

 

Marcello began recording music and sounds at his high school in Millbrook, New York and the nearby Trevor Zoo. His trips to visit family in Italy have been fundamental to his infatuation with listening and recording the natural world. Marcello moved to Los Angeles in 2007 where he earned his B.S. in Music from the University of Southern California. He has worked on the acclaimed series Snowfall, Cobra Kai, Hightown, American Horror Story, The Politician, Tyrant, and Roots; the latter of which he was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award and MPSE Golden Reel Award. His feature credits include Janicza Bravo’s Lemon, Atsuko Hirayanagi’s Oh Lucy! and Matthew Berkowitz’ Madness Inside Me, as well as recent features for Netflix The Boys in the Band and The Prom. When it comes to his craft, Marcello explains “I am constantly amazed and curious with how sound and the absence of sound interplay to affect story, character, rhythm, and tone.”
